‘I Felt Trapped’: Cassie Ventura Details Years of Alleged Abuse, Rape, and Blackmail in Diddy Sex Trafficking Trial
In a Manhattan courtroom this week, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura revealed the dark and disturbing reality behind her decade-long relationship with music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Through two days of emotionally wrenching testimony, the 38-year-old singer and model described years of alleged abuse, coercion, and humiliation — all hidden beneath the glittering surface of celebrity life.
Combs, 55, is standing trial on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. Ventura, widely considered the prosecution’s star witness, provided a chilling inside account of what she says really happened during their relationship — and how she felt trapped in a world ruled by fear, manipulation, and power.

A Decade of Control, Fear — and 'Freak Offs'
Cassie, who is now married and expecting her third child, described being drawn to Combs at just 19, when she signed with his Bad Boy Records label. By 22, she said, he had begun forcing her into what he called “Freak Offs” — orchestrated sex parties where she was required to perform sex acts with male escorts while he watched.
“The performance involved watching Sean watch me with another person,” she testified. “I was confused, nervous, but I loved him so much.”
She said these parties could last for days, and she frequently took drugs to numb herself — including ecstasy, ketamine, mushrooms, GHB, and cocaine. "The Freak Offs became a job," she said, adding that she sometimes vomited from the drugs but was still made to continue.
Afterward, she was often responsible for cleaning hotel rooms littered with blood and urine.
‘He Urinated in My Mouth’
In deeply graphic testimony, Ventura alleged that Combs would urinate on her during the Freak Offs — sometimes joined by the hired male sex workers. “I don’t want anyone to urinate on me,” she said. “Sean would urinate in my mouth — not super often, but often enough.”
She described choking as it happened and said, “There’s not a whole lot of control you have with two men standing over you peeing.”
Ventura also testified that Combs demanded she participate in Freak Offs even while menstruating. “I don’t think anyone wants to do that,” she said.
The 2016 Hotel Beating — Caught on Camera
On the second day of testimony, jurors were shown disturbing surveillance footage from a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 — footage released publicly in 2024. In the video, Combs is seen throwing a vase at Ventura, chasing her down a hallway, grabbing her by the neck, and kicking her while she lay on the ground.
Ventura told the court she didn’t fight back during that incident because doing so “just made him more violent.”
“I did fight back earlier in our relationship,” she said. “But it always made it worse for me.”
Alleged Rape in 2018 — After They Broke Up
In one of the trial’s most shocking moments, Ventura testified that Combs raped her in her home in 2018 — after they had broken up and she had begun seeing her now-husband, Alex Fine.
“We met up for lunch. I thought it was closure,” she said, breaking down in court. “He raped me in my living room. I just remember crying and saying ‘no,’ but it was very fast.”
She admitted they had sex again one more time after the assault. “We’d been together 10 years. You don’t just turn feelings off that way,” she said.
Threats and a Car Bomb?
Ventura testified that after a short-lived relationship with rapper Kid Cudi in 2011, Combs flew into a jealous rage. “He told me he was going to blow up Kid Cudi’s car,” she said.
Not long after, in 2012, Kid Cudi’s Porsche was set on fire with an incendiary device. While no charges were filed, Ventura said she always believed Combs was behind it.
Blackmail and Sex Tapes
Ventura also accused Combs of recording the sex acts from the Freak Offs and threatening to release them whenever she resisted his control.
“He would tell me, ‘I’ll ruin you,’” she said. “The videos made me look terrible — like a slut. I lived in fear of them being released.”
She said the threats became common, especially if she tried to date someone new or stand up to him. “It was always, ‘Don’t forget what I have on you.’”
From Civil Suit to Federal Indictment: How It All Began
The public first learned of Ventura’s allegations in November 2023, when she filed a civil lawsuit against Combs. The suit accused him of rape, physical abuse, trafficking, and years of psychological control. Though the case was settled within 24 hours for a reported $20 million, it set off alarms in Washington.
When civil complaints allege violations of federal laws — particularly those involving trafficking, coercion, and criminal enterprise — federal agencies can intervene. That’s precisely what happened here.
The Department of Homeland Security soon launched a formal investigation. In March 2024, federal agents raided Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami, seizing digital evidence. By September, a grand jury indicted him on multiple charges.
“Without that civil complaint, this trial might never have happened,” said a former federal prosecutor familiar with the case. “It opened the door to a much wider investigation — and pulled back the curtain on a system of abuse.”
A Cultural Reckoning
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and maintains his innocence. But for Cassie Ventura, this trial is more than a courtroom battle — it’s a public reckoning after years of silence.
“He controlled a lot of my life,” she told jurors. “But now, I have my voice. And I’m not afraid to use it.”
