Iman Shumpert Wants Teyana Taylor Locked Up! NBA Star Accuses Ex of Criminal Contempt.
Ex-NBA star Iman Shumpert has fired back at ex-wife Teyana Taylor, demanding she be held in criminal contempt and jailed for 20 days—just weeks after her lawyer tried to have him locked up, Celebmash can exclusively reveal.
The ugly split between ex-NBA star Iman Shumpert and multi-hyphenate star Teyana Taylor just escalated.

In court documents filed May 5, Shumpert, 34, accused his former wife of breaching their July 2024 divorce settlement. The deal had covered child custody, support, and property division—and, crucially, included a gag order to keep details private. According to Shumpert, Taylor “willfully exposed and broadcast private provisions of the final judgment,” an act he claims damaged his reputation and cost him financially.
He declined to cite an exact number, stating it would be “proven at trial.” But the basketball champion wasn’t done there. He also alleged Taylor took their kids out of school without notice and obstructed his right to visit them on April 17.
In a particularly explosive accusation, Shumpert claimed Taylor hurled racially inflammatory insults at him in front of their children, leaving the young ones caught in the middle of the parental feud. “Her behavior maliciously targeted the father-child relationship and disregarded court orders,” his lawyer said.

Shumpert’s legal team asked the judge to find Taylor in both civil and criminal contempt, fine her $1,000, and order up to 20 days of jail time.
This legal counterpunch came just weeks after Taylor, 34, filed her own contempt motion. She accused Shumpert of leaking sealed documents to the media in March—coincidentally, just as she had been photographed with actor Aaron Pierre, igniting dating rumors. Taylor’s camp hinted at the suspicious timing, suggesting the leak was meant to overshadow her personal life.
The singer-turned-actress, who filed for divorce in January 2023, has repeatedly denied ever wanting Shumpert jailed. “I never tried to send Iman to jail. I’m still not trying to send Iman to jail,” she told followers on Instagram Live. Her motion did, however, call for him to be fined and found in contempt.
Despite the courtroom drama, Taylor has remained a standout figure in the public eye. Last week, she dominated headlines at the 2025 Met Gala, opening the red carpet in a jaw-dropping custom crimson gown that instantly landed her on best-dressed lists across the fashion world.
Shumpert, for his part, has denied all allegations of leaking documents. His attorney publicly stated, “Mr. Shumpert has never provided any information to any media outlet, nor did he leak any allegations or claims from these proceedings.”
The former couple, who were married for seven years, share daughters Junie and Rue. Both sides are scheduled to face off again in court on June 24 in what has become one of Hollywood’s most bitter celebrity breakups.
